German Cinema, Hungarian Stars: UFA and Hunnia in the 1930s. 11.05.17.00, Jávor terem, Corvin mozi
Even for film historians it’s a lesser known fact that in the early 1930s the Hungarian film industry’s resurgence was largely helped by pulling in foreign capital. This fruitful cooperation resulted in many foreign films and their Hungarian language versions to be produced here. While comparing these versions and introducing rare photographs and stories from the era, the presentation will look back at the birth of the first Hungarian co-productions.
Intorduction and presentation following the screening will be held by Márton Kurutz (HNFA).
